I’ll be perfectly honest, I was not exasperated to see the gym membership become a casualty of the pandemic.
Unlike our partner, I didn’t truly care for going to the gym.
At the same time, it had become changingly clear that resting in our recliner soaking up the air conditioning and sucking down beers wasn’t good either. So I finally acquiesced and started going to the gym with our partner. Well, maybe not quite as frequent as she went. There were morning where I was still on our first cup of tea when she’d come walking in from a morning workout. A gym rat, I was not. Plus, I truly never liked how the air conditioning seemed just constantly overwhelmed. The humidity level was just never getting balanced by any of the heating and cooling process from the commercial Heating, Ventilation, and A/C equipment. So when the pandemic hit, our partner and I both stopped going to the gym. It was absolutely her idea to stop the gym membership and I smiled in delight. But she had a plan. She wasn’t stopping the workouts. She was just relocating them. Within a month of leaving the gym, I started seeing all sorts of preowned exercise device gathering in the basement. The next thing I know, the two of us have a full blow gym in our basement. Not only was she working out down there but so were her friends. I knew I would have to join in even though I had an idea of our own. I called the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C corporation and had a ductless heat pump installed in the basement. So now I’m at least working out in the most perfect quality heating and air of any gym anywhere.
