I wonder how people in other countries deal with indoor temperature control

I’ll admit that I haven’t seen nearly as much of the world as several of our peers. Not only do I not presently have a passport, however I have never been out of the country either. When I was young I lived in eastern MI plus wasn’t far from the Canadian border. Despite living while in the time when you could cross the Canadian border without a passport, our parents never made the trip with our siblings plus I. On top of this, our Grandmother is from British Columbia plus only got American citizenship in his 60s. Since our Mom plus his siblings drove with their parents to Canada nearly every Summer in the 1960s plus 1970s, I expected to visit at some point in our childhood. Every one of us had a family reunion at our aunt’s wedding plus I got to meet some of our Canadian cousins. I remember talking to them about a/c plus they were all surprised when I told them that our parents use a/c system on a yearly basis whenever hot plus cold temperatures are higher than 68 degrees outside. Back then, none of them had a/cs in their homes in British Columbia because of how freezing it is up there at that latitude. I started to wonder how other parts of the world deal with indoor temperature control, especially in places where it’s extremely sizzling instead. Much of Europe is completely without a/c, even the places near the Mediterranean Sea where hot plus cold temperatures get fairly sizzling in the summer. On the other hand, I live without a oil furnace in our new beach house while our family in British Columbia would die without two forms of indoor heat every Winter season.
