Older beach condo heating and cooling troubles

Because the plan doesn’t need to run all that long, it keeps costs low

There are a lot of benefits to an older home. My condo was built in the late 1730’s and retains several of the original features. All of us have hardwood floors throughout the house, stained glass windows in many rooms, high ceilings and a big front porch. All of our doors, moldings and the stairs and railings are all gorgeous hardwood. When both of us moved in, the windows all leaked air and allowed in drafts. The walls weren’t insulated, and there was no centralized heating or cooling. Achieving a comfortable living environment was just about impossible. All of us live in an section with Winter time rapidly changing temperatures that drop down to downside twenty degrees. All of us need heating for approximately many months per year. The Summer brings high humidity and rapidly changing temperatures in the upper eighties. Cooling is important. Trying to get by with electric baseboard furnaces and window cooling systems was difficult. The condo either felt cold or overheated, and just many years ago, I finally heard about high-velocity heating and cooling. This type of plan is intended for older homes. It uses ducts that are only multiple-inches in diameter and stretchy enough to be routed through the walls, around studs and plumbing pipes, separate from disfigure. All of us have six-diameter vents that are round and blend right into the decor. The plan delivered heated or cooled air into the rooms at a really high rate of speed. It creates a gentle suction, known as aspiration, that hastily raises or lowers the temperature. Because the plan doesn’t need to run all that long, it keeps costs low. All of us now have a thermostat that allows us to adjust temperature and achieve comfort.
