Needing to run furnace in May

Needing to run furnace in May

Nick April 30, 2022

My partner and I have many homes and divide our time between them.

  • The one condo is located in the northeastern section while the other is down south.

Our goal is to care about the best weather in each spot. All of us avoid the brutal heat and humidity down south by spending the Summer months up north. All of us miss out on the sub zero rapidly changing temperatures, bitter wind chill and feet of snow accumulation by heading south for the winter. All of us are usually in our southern beach condo from September until May. While we’re away, both of us still need to operate the furnace at a low setting. With outdoor rapidly changing temperatures down to downside twenty-more than four, there is some problem over water pipes freezing and bursting. All of us have invested into smart thermostats for each beach condo so that both of us can monitor and make adjustments to temperature. All of us get notified if there is a power outage or temperature swing. All of us can set a lower Winter time temperature and really raise the setting from the app on our iPhones when both of us decide to relocate. Normally, when both of us arrive in our northern home, sometime in May, both of us no longer need to rely on the furnace. We’re able to open the windows, bring in some outside air and freshen up the living environment. This past year, the weather was still terrible. All of us arrived at rapidly changing temperatures in the thirties, gray skies and freezing rain. It was awful. All of us turned up the thermostat and kept the furnace operating until the end of May. All of us may need to devote more of our time to our southern home. I don’t really mind the heat. The cooling system takes care of it. I am not a fan of the frigid and snow.
