The noise was a single mouse trapped in the air vent

When my wife and I moved into our current house, both of us had more than one big moving trucks with furniture and boxes.

The trucks delivered all of the items to our home. It took all day to unload both of the trucks. While the crew was working, the front door was open. We did not have the a/c system running at all. It was a genuinely sizzling and humid day. After the movers finished unloading the boxes, my wife and I turned on the a/c system to cool down the house. We started unpacking boxes in the master home office. I heard the strangest sound coming from the air vents in the home office. It sounded like tiny little footsteps walking on metal. I grabbed a screwdriver from the laundry area and I removed the cover from the vent. I saw more than one tiny eyeah in the corner of the vent. I noticed the critter instantly as a mouse. I did not know how the mouse got into the ventilation system, but my wife and I had an inspection performed before both of us purchased the lake house and there were no signs of any pest troubles in the HVAC duct or not home. After I coached the mouse out of the air vent, I used a flashlight to look at all of the air vents. I didn’t see any other signs of mice or rodents, despite the fact that I thought it was best to call an exterminator. The exterminator inspected every square footage of the lake house and did not find any other troubles in the HVAC duct. The exterminator felt that the mouse genuinely came into the lake house when both of us had all of the doors open on moving day.
