The last room in my household that needs to be gutted is the main bathroom.
- Every room has gotten updated except that one.
My husband and I are eager to get it done. I don’t want to tear out walls, change the layout or create unnecessary work. Been there, done that. I am looking at a minimum disruption and cost plan. I want to keep the existing vanity and just replace the top with granite. I want to redo the laminate floor and instead have tile. I want a new tub, shower head and controls. I also want to redo the shower tile in something that isn’t beige. A fresh coat of paint and a new window should round the project out nicely. I have been debating on adding heated flooring. The bathroom isn’t that big. It wouldn’t take many electric heated mats to do it. Also, having heated flooring in there would be awesome. The winter season isn’t very long, but it does get cold. It would be nice leaving a warm bath and stepping on a heated tile. I also have been debating about someday doing heated flooring in my entire house. I feel like just adding it in the bathroom would be a good place to start. I could see if I even liked my heating system under the floor. I won’t be redoing my home flooring for another 15 years. So I do have time to ponder my decision. But, it would be nice to experience radiant heating for the first time. I think I am going to like it.
