I was shopping for a new AC unit last week.

Up until now, I had always dealt with window Air conditioning units, but I wanted to get a central air conditioning system.

I liked the convenience of being able to just turn on the air conditioning and not need to get the window air conditioner out of the closet and clean it, before being able to use the AC. I was getting too old to need to deal with that. I ran into an overzealous young salesman who wanted to show me every type of AC unit they had in the showroom. I knew exactly what I wanted when it came to a central air conditioning unit. I did all of my homework and knew what size I needed and I knew what features I wanted. I tried to tell him that I had the model number in my purse, but he kept right on telling me all about every AC unit in the showroom. When he asked me if I was interested in a cooling tower, I just frowned and stared at him. Apparently my frown and stare didn’t phase him like it did my children. They knew I was about to go off on them or get rude with someone. I finally tapped him on the chest and asked him if there was someone in the building who would shut up long enough to talk to me and not at me. I did not want a cooling tower, what I wanted was this AC unit. I handed the slip of paper and he walked away muttering that he would get someone who could help me.
