We rented an immense home in the mountains for our winter getaway; however, we found the advertisement online, and it promised seclusion with hunting and ice fishing openings nearby, neither my hubby nor I were actually interested in hunting or ice fishing, the two of us wanted pictures.
We are both nature photographers, me by vocation and my hubby by interest, and the two of us were actually intrigued with the change of scenery this home really had to offer.
However, the two of us rented it for many weeks, then the home was a rustic home with an immense stone fireplace and wood burning stoves or heating systems or whatever they are. But, it was actually inconvenient to have to keep the stoves and fireplaces stoked in order to stay warm. We couldn’t do that because good pictures require long hikes occasionally; but, to be honest, the two of us had only walked and taken pictures the first many afternoons. The change of scenery was not all that it was cracked up to be because everything was covered in snow. But, the two of us did spend quite a bit of time outside, walking, sledding, and playing like youngsters. We even built a snowman and some snow forts and had a snowball fight. But, everytime the two of us went too far from the home for too long, the two of us had to deal with a freezing home when the two of us finally got back. I was frustrated with the owner, however every day the two of us woke up freezing and stayed that way until the fires heated up the locale, and this was an immense cabin, keeping the fires stoked was a lot of work. After about a month of this, I decided to text the owner about my unhappiness! She texted me the location of the thermostat! Apparently, the home was honestly heated with comfortable radiant heated floors and the two of us had just assumed the worst. I was so embarrassed for myself.
