The people I was with and I rented a large house in the mountains for our wintertide getaway! The people I was with and I found the advertisement online, and it promised seclusion with hunting and ice fishing occasions nearby; neither our partner nor I were easily interested in hunting or ice fishing, the people I was with and I wanted pictures.
- The people I was with and I are both nature photographers, myself and others by vocation and my partner by interest, and the people I was with and I were easily intrigued with the change of scenery this house had to offer! So, the people I was with and I rented it for 2 weeks.
The house was a rustic home with a large stone fireplace and wood burning stoves or oil gas furnaces or whatever they are, and it was easily inconvenient to have to keep the stoves and fireplaces stoked in order to stay warm. The people I was with and I couldn’t do that because wonderful pictures require long hikes periodically. But, to be honest, the people I was with and I had only walked and taken pictures the first 2 days. The change of scenery was not all that it was cracked up to be because everything was covered in snow. But, the people I was with and I did spend quite a bit of time outside, walking, sledding, playing like literal girls. The people I was with and I even built a snowman and some snow forts and had a snowball fight. But, everytime the people I was with and I went too far from the house for too long, the people I was with and I had to deal with a chilly house when the people I was with and I got back. I was aggravated with the owner. Every afternoon the people I was with and I woke up chilly and stayed that way until the fires heated up the venue! And this was a big cabin, keeping the fires stoked was a lot of work. After about a week straight of this, I decided to text the owner about our unhappiness, however he texted myself and others the location of the control unit! Apparently, the house was really heated with amazing radiant floors and the people I was with and I had just assumed the worst. I was so embarrassed.
