Shortly after my husband and I moved into the new house, we had to have the HVAC system replaced.
- We had new carpeting in the living room and the team of HVAC techs had to go through the living room to get to the furnace room.
The first crew that came in, took off their shoes and put on special footwear that were made to keep my carpeting clean. When the second crew came in the next day, I thought they would be wearing the same footwear as the men who were there the previous day. I didn’t find any need to watch the HVAC crew as they came and went while installing the HVAC system. When they were done that day, I decided to look at what they had done. Not only did I see dirty footprints all over my carpeting, but I had paper and wrappings all over my yard. While one crew worked on the furnace, another worked on the air conditioning. I was devastated and in tears when my husband got home. I showed him our new carpeting and then I showed him the mess they left outside. I had taken pictures of the basement, my carpeting and the backyard. He picked up the phone to call the HVAC company. He asked for the owner, whom he knew was the manager during the day. When the owner got on the phone, my husband told him he wanted to text him some pictures. The HVAC took responsibility for cleaning my carpeting and taking care of the mess. The men who were there that day apologized, but I have a feeling it went further than just an apology.
