I haven’t had to learn the hard way that you do not always know people in the way that you think you do. My neighbor is a prime example of this. When I first moved into this neighborhood she came off as a very nice and friendly person, she was always offering things to others and frequently invited us over to her house to have dinner with her. I think that she was lonely but I later came to find that she did this to everybody and just likes to have a large circle of friends. I have at the same time recently been having problems with my air conditioning system and so until I could get it repaired I decided to go ahead and purchase a temporary AC system. I wanted something better than a window AC so I decided to purchase a ductless mini split air conditioner. I have left it on my porch briefly while I went to do errands and as I was coming down the street and was about ready to pull into my driveway I saw my neighbor creep across the street grab it and run off with it and try to take it into her home and she would have gotten away with it too if I hadn’t seen her and stopped her. I confronted her about why she was trying to steal my ductless mini split air conditioning system, and she tried to lie and told me that she was just going to borrow it but she and I both knew that was a lie. Any friendship we had ended right then and there and while I decided not to call the police on her I did give her a firm warning if she was able to do something like that again. She never did and I got to enjoy my brand new portable air conditioning system.
