I took a business class before starting my HVAC company. There was a lot of information that I needed even before I was able to get my funding. I wanted to know exactly what I needed before I went to the bank and asked for the money. The other things my brother and I were interested in was how to go about getting our tax ID, getting our business name, and income tax concerns. Once we had all these questions answered, we sat down and did our five year plan. Along with our five year plan, we also figured out how many employees we were going to need to start our business, what we were going to pay them, and the type of inventory we would need for the HVAC company. Our inventory had to include actual HVAC equipment, or tools, the different parts that we needed to service the HVAC equipment, and even our service vans. When we had all this information taken care of, we started our website. We talked about HVAC and why it was important in the world today. We even had a small FAQ section on one of the pages. When we hadn’t had a single hit on our website after two months, we knew we had done something wrong. We should have done more research before creating a website on our own. Now, all we could do was to contact an online marketing business who also offered web design, and ask for their help. We needed professional help with our web design and adding all the information into it that we needed in order to be found when someone did a search for local HVAC companies.
