I have to admit that when my husband pushed for us to buy a whole home generator system, I was very skeptical about it.
I thought it was a huge waste of money and that if the power happened to go out, we would be able to live without our central air conditioning system for a couple of days until it was back up and running.
However, towards the end of the summer, we had all kinds of power outages in our area due to the faulty power lines that we have around here and we were the only ones in our neighborhood who had air conditioning. Needless to say, that made us very popular around here! However, now it’s winter, and I am thankful that we have a generator for a whole different reason. We have been having really cold temperatures around here this year so far, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop anytime soon. On top of that, we have had a whole lot of snow already and it’s not even the middle of the season yet. With all of the snow comes a lot of power outages, which can be really dangerous around here with all of the cold temperatures that we get. Many people get generators just because of this, and now I’m glad that we actually have one now. Because of an abundance of snow, our power went out last week, and we actually used the generator to power the electric furnace. We didn’t have any trouble getting through the outage at all.
