I’m glad I moved to a state with mild winters.
Yes, there are days when the temperature drops below normal, but those days are few and far between.
On a typical Winter day, the temperature hovers between 60 and 65 degrees, and on colder days, I may see temperatures of between 40 and 55 degrees. When I lived up North, I experienced average temperatures in the mid-to-high 20s during the Winter, which meant that my heater was used every single day. Now that I live in the Southern part of the country, I hardly turn on our central heat. I am not sure if other people in our state use their heat in the Winter, but I think I survive just fine without them. In the winter, I wear extra clothing at home, and I also wear cozy socks made from fleece material to keep my feet warm. Heating costs have skyrocketed over the years, and central heating consumes a lot of energy. Therefore, I am thrilled that I am able to skip using it, saving me money on my energy bill. The weather here can be brutally hot in the Summer, so I use my central air conditioning every day. Our average daily temperature is about 92 degrees, and I have not yet found a way to avoid using our air conditioner. I know that the money I save in the Winter will be used to cool our beach house in the summer. I will just consider this breaking even.
